![]() I don’t have all the answers to why and how I act the way I do. Here’s what singer Patrick Cozens says about the song: If this is what the rest of the album is like, then this thing is going to be such a beast. It’s a 77-second mid-tempo stomper that makes me want to kick buildings over, and its Ben Clinton-directed video does a nice job capturing this band’s explosive energy. “Fight Back” is on the album, but the first proper single is called “Misled,” and it’s fucking awesome. They’ve been recording the LP, in fits and starts, ever since 2019. Next month, we’ll finally get a new Restraining Order full-length called Locked In Time. Since the release of This World Is Too Much, Restraining Order have released a few things: a split with fellow fast-hardcore killers Warfare in 2021, a great one-off track called “ Fight Back” last year. Now, finally, Restraining Order are ready to follow that first album up. I’ve seen Restraining Order a few times since, but nothing is beating that moment. A few months after it came out - and a few weeks before the pandemic shut everything down - I saw Restraining Order play an amazing house show in Richmond, at a place that’s since burned down, and that memory has stuck with me. That album is catchy and vicious and impeccably well-written, and I’ve had it in constant rotation ever since. In 2019, the Northeast band Restraining Order released their debut album This World Is Too Much, one of the greatest and most anthemic works of old-school fast hardcore that I’ve heard in recent years. The building is 1km away from the station, so it’s not “100m from Nonhyeon”. There are no particles in the Korean to suggest the relationship between the words in the line, so I’m unsure what the 100m represents. This above verse doesn’t have pronouns in the Korean, so it’s ambiguous. The explanation for RM’s poem “Youth” breaks down how youth and spring are related words in the Korean through their hanja (Chinese characters). “Youth” would typically be a translation of 청춘, but I believe 젊음 was used to differentiate the two words. It’s funny, because the flower symbolism is also reminiscent of Serendipity and the Kim Chunsoo poem “Flower”, but these flip the personas. In context of this verse, the “flower” is ARMY, which reflects how they consider themselves the response to our action. My spring day, it’s thanks to you I was able to be myself However, I think “sum” references the numbers above more clearly, and how BTS + ARMY = fullness. This line could be read as “our chemistry”. This verse explicitly references their previous fan song 2! 3! Is it “For the path we walk would all become paths ?” Or is it more “모두 다 의 길이”, which would then be “For this path we’re walking will become a path for everyone”, suggesting BTS are carving out a path for ARMY to walk? Or even “모든 것의 길”: “For this path we’re walking will become a path of/to everything”? Once I’d laid my head on the pillow (wake up) The nights, where I hoped I wouldn’t awake This is where the old Big Hit building used to be, along with their dorms ‘Those words’ are, for now, left as a mystery I should’ve said it more often, those words: If you’re tired, you can take a brief rest Gosh, it really is a relief that it was you,įor I’ll get back up however many times it takes
